Notes:
This album was recorded in 1969 and released in December of that year to fulfill Larry's Capitol Records contract after he left the band People! following creative disputes with the band and the record label. Larry had originally envisioned a soul/blues album in the style of Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding. But when the sessions were recorded, Larry had to stay home with a bad case of the flu. When he finally got back to the studio to lay down his vocals, the producer for Capitol had taken the music in a whole different direction, which was more in the pop-rock style of late 60s top forty radio. Larry objected but eventually gave in, which was the right thing to do because this quickly became the seminal Jesus Music album, launching Larry's controversial career and birthing Contemporary Christian Music and Christian Rock. Prior to his passing, Larry would tinker with this album and release it in many different versions, never completely happy with it.
